Spain and England in the Age of Cervantes and Shakespeare. Connected Histories?

A one-day conference (April 21, 2016) and exhibition (April 18-June 17, 2016) will explore literary and cultural intersections and highlight the Kislak Center’s Spanish Golden Age and English Renaissance literature. The conference concludes with a performance by Penn’s Underground Shakespeare Company. Participants include Marina Brownlee (Princeton), Roger Chartier (Penn), Steve Dolph (Penn), Georgina Dopico-Black (NYU), Antonio Feros (Penn), Carmen Peraita (Villanova), Melissa Sanchez (Penn), Peter Stallybrass (Penn), Sarah Wall-Randell (Wellesley), and Kathryn Swanton (CUNY).
