“Anudando este roto hilo”: A Commemoration of Cervantes’s Life and Works

A Commemoration of Cervantes’s Life and Works to take place at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15, 2016

Our Symposium “Anudando este roto hilo” aspires to honor the extraordinary artistic tapestry that Cervantes crafted over his lifetime. In this vein, we shall pay tribute to his great masterpiece, Don Quijote de la Mancha(1605, 1615), the Novelas ejemplares (1613), his Ocho comedias y ocho entremeses (1615), the Viaje del Parnaso (1614), and Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda (1617).

This Symposium follows in the wake of the 1st Cervantes Symposium of the North East, which took place in New York City in November 2015, as a forum for scholarly production and discussion. Our aim is to provide a space where Cervantes scholars, largely from the North East of the United States, could meet to discuss and share new research and approaches to Cervantes’s work. By creating a small Symposium our hope is to generate a valuable dialogue and vivid discussions among scholars.
